Calibration gas is similar but not the same as bump testing. After the gas from a cylinder has been passed over the sensor 50% LEL CH4 for example if it reads as a different level e.g 35% LEL then the monitor must be calibrated.
We have an extensive stock of calibration gas and associated accessories available from our warehouse. Same day dispatch is available to ports in Perth and all over the world if your order is received before 12 PM.
We can provide disposable calibration gas and can also provide refillable gas for all fixed gas detection systems.
Gas Detection Instruments
Your gas detection equipment should be serviced and calibrated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Port state control or inspectors may ask to board your vessel in Perth in order to check its critical safety products – including gas detection monitors. If it is found that your requirement doesn’t have up to date calibration certification then it will be logged as a non-conformance with the resulting possibility of delays. This means that not only will your ship be delayed from its journey but you will have to py for a technician to fly out to calibrate your instruments.
At DS Marine, we are able to organise calibration at key ports or can supply calibrated, certificated equipment to your ship in Perth.
